Hello new players.

This forum is for you. It's a place for new players and club members to learn and practice (and generally just play) WEG D6 space combat.

It's hard to think of Star Wars without thinking of battles in space. This is your chance to learn the ropes.

Much of the time that will focus on starfighters, like X-Wings and Tie Fighters. But, ultimately, I listen to what you want to do. If you want to try your hand at being captain of a larger warship, I'll make that happen for you.

All characters will be pre-made, at least mostly. That means I'll hand you a character sheet (CS) with stats already created. I may let you flesh out the character with a name or background information, or those things may already be present. You don't own the character, you just get to play him or her during your time here. The character is a loan.

Part of this will be learning how space combat works, part of it will be just pure fun, trying your hand at this kind of play. Ultimately your experience is custom tailored.

If you want to jump in and play, all you gotta do is post. Tell me your name, or screen name, tell me what you want to play, whether it be something already underway, or if something else interests you. The more information you give me, the more I can custom tailor the game to suit your interests.

A good page filled with spacecraft stats can be found here:

Welcome to the Club,

Jon Allen

Alrighty here you go! I took the background of one of my previous characters with your sheet in order to personalize it a bit. ( I hope you don't mind.) I used to play the d6 forum based starwars games, but it has been a while and i am rusty. I have gotten used to the d20 style so please bear with me. :D Other than that, i am quite excited to play again! Thanks again for your quick response!

Physical Description
Anika has long dark brown hair that is always tightly bound back in a bun at the nape of her neck. She has the typical Asian facial features on top of the Od’Mantiev legacy in her eye color. This genetic quirk expresses itself in the form of an iris color change with her moods, from a bright green to a subtle gray. As a woman of above average height at 5’9, she tends to tower over some of the females in her taskforce.

Personality
The years of not being allowed to express her true self have made Anika appear quiet, reserve, and stoic.
Yet therein remains the rare occcations that a person is able to gain her trust, blossoming before their very eyes
as a warm and bright young woman. Although slow to anger, Anika is known for the rare occasions where her wrath knows no boundaries. But these scenes are surprisingly always directed towards herself, belittling every single error that she makes.

Background
Anika was born in Coruscant to a wealthy family known for their strength, leadership, and most especially their loyalty to the Empire. The Od’Mantiev family line has always bred fine, upstanding young men for the Empire, and it was expected that Anika’s mother would deliver the next. Commodore Alverion Od’Mantiev looked forward to the birth of another male who would continue the tradition. However, the promise of a son was not fulfilled and his wrath knew no boundaries after being informed that his wife would not be able to bear another child.

Anika spent her childhood ignored by her father, despite constant efforts to prove that she was worth the Od’Mantiev name. In time she was even sent to the Imperial Naval Academy, despite her father's grumblings that she would amount to nothing. Yet Anika played the role of a citizen of the Empire well: she listened to orders, carried out commands, anything that would seemingly gain the approval of her father. Yet it was for naught, and 19 years of desperately vying for her father’s attention ended the day she received the newsnet missive of her fathers death.

For nineteen years she had done all she could to gain the approval of her father, and she will be damned if she will continue to prove herself to her father’s ghost. If he expected her to bring shame and dishonor into her family for being a female, then she might as well go all out. On that day, Lieutenant Anika Od’Mantiev went AWOL, taking with her all of her knowledge gained in the Imperial Naval Academy as well as any pertinent information that had been given to her family in confidence. In her mind, it was best to finally live up to her father’s expectations,
and since she never had her chance to rebel against him why not start now...and what better avenue than the Rebel Alliance.

Quote

“The Admiral who wins the battle makes many calculations in his briefing room before the battle is fought. The Admiral who loses makes but few calculations beforehand….so fear not. Our Admiral is not one to lose.”

Looks awesome. Great work.

I'm going to craft the start of a new adventure for you now and get it posted soon. Keep an eye out for that. I'll start a new thread.

Hey welcome to the club.

Please communicate with me via private message and send me your character sheet that way. If people post character sheets all over these forum threads, it's easy to lose them.

No imperial characters with this. This isn't a permanent game setup or a permanent character. It's a game scenario set up to teach some of the basics of space combat and the D6 game system. It's all very pre-scripted and the scenario was chosen on it's merits of offering a variety of teaching experiences and the X-Wing has a varied enough array of equipment that different skills can be practiced. A typical Tie Fighter doesn't carry any kind of warheads, like missiles or torpedoes, and doesn't have shields either. All relevant things to learn. So rebel pilots only please.

Do a final rework, and send it to me via Private Message.

Oh ok my mistake, I'll get right to it (I deliberately wrote the background so it could be swapped for rebel/imperial character :D ). I'll have it to you shortly, should I remove the other post?
