Is it a rule, or just a convention?

Sun Jun 12, 2016 2:08 am

Ok, so I've mentioned recently that it's been a while since I've played.

I'm trying to figure out how many CP a player character is supposed to start with. I remember that it's typically supposed to be 5 CP, but I really can't find any "rule" that says so. Is it just an established convention? Or am I missing it somewhere?

Thanks.

There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Binary, lol.

SWC 'convention' was historically 5 if I recall. From what I can tell in the book, it's zero. Tim knows the rules far better than I do however.

The joint/shared campaign is a thing of the past however, so much like your own table, you can decide on whatever starting 'power level' you deem appropriate.
I play... therefore I am.

New character templates (that is, those with the standard 7D in starting skills) from the book have 5.

My own campaign doesn't start them off as "new" characters, so they were given a few more skill dice and character points.
