Red Squadron

Red Squadron has one of the longest histories of any of the New Republic Starfighter Corp's Squadrons. Formed even before the New Republic, 'Red' was the designation of one of the two Squadrons that flew on the original Death Star. After the Battle of Yavin Commander Luke Skywalker was given command, and his reorganization created the famed Rogue Squadron. Red Squadron continued to exist however, and today remains on of the most reknowned starfighter squadrons in the New Republic.

Since it's inception, Red Squadron has flown X-wings almost exclusively. Although some missions have put them behind the controls of other fighters, or even pulled them from the cockpit completely, the names 'Red Squadron' and 'X-wing' are inextricably linked. Today they are proud to be one of the few squadrons flying X-wing AC4's.
